Fighter.

When you're faced with a situation, it's fight or flight. It's either you stay there, you go through it, you survive, you defeat your demons. Or you take the easy way out and run away. But running away doesn't mean that it'll be gone forever. It just means you escaped. And those demons are still free.

I'm a fighter. I don't take things lying down. I don't like being trampled over. But sometimes that's what you have to do. You give in, you be the bigger person. Sometimes you have to forget your pride for the importance of someone you love. Sometimes you need to realise that there's the bigger picture.

Not everything is black and white. No one is purely good or purely evil. No one is always right or always wrong. We are brought up to tell the difference between right and wrong but as we grow, we realise that that fine line is blurred. In some sense, we believe some things are right, while others think they're wrong. But, who is right ?

I've come to believe that everyone is. In every perspective, in every view, everyone has their individual thoughts, a mind of their own, so to speak. You can't always look at things from your angle and expect the rest of the world to do so too. That's where our human nature kicks in.

We argue, we debate, we fight, we make a hell lot of noise because of perspective. We shun the ideologies of others because we feel that we are right. Out of pride, ego and just plain cockiness.

But as we grow, we learn to compromise. We learn that differences can be accepted, that other views can also be accepted. We aren't that big-headed and bigoted after all, are we ?

Because we've come to realise that there are more things in life than just ourselves. We seek companionship and relationships, and to do that, we need to meet people. People with differences. People who don't have the same mindset as we do. We learn how to fall in love, we learn to believe in another person, place trust in them, and we learn to kit out our eyes with a pair of rose tinted glasses.

And when we are let down, we move on. Because life has so much to offer. So why wait ? Opportunities are at every corner. If you don't take a step forward, you'll never get to the corner.
